Hop on Hop off Bus Tour in Athens

We arrived in Athens around noon today from Crete. It was a hot and beautiful day in Athens. We decided to take a hop on hop off bus tour for the afternoon and tomorrow. We stayed on the bus for the whole hour and a half tour this afternoon learning about all the sights in Athens and then decided to visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon to round out our day. On the tour we saw the following sights from the top of our open air bus, to name a few: Syntagma Square (where the parliament buildings are and the protestors, this also happens to be right near our hotel), the temple or Zeus, National Gardens, National Archaeological Museum, Panathinaikon Stadium, Athens University, a bunch of churches and much more! We are starting to get tired of seeing ruins and doing the tourist things, I am writing the blog and Darren has ran out to get us pizza for in our room tonight because we did not want to go to a restaurant, I think one month of travel is about right, we are just getting tired of it now and we only have two days left so that is not too bad. Tomorrow is our last day in Athens and then we start our trek home with 17 hours of flights and time to kill in between the flights. We should arrive home around 11:00 Friday night. We are looking forward to a weekend of sleeping.
